Personal website. A project/goal of mine that has been on my to-do list for a couple of years now, but due to my laziness and excuses haven’t gotten to the point of realization. Well, this year I have decided to stop with all the excuses and finally get to work and create a space where I can showcase my side projects and while I am at it also start blogging about different technologies that I am currently learning about.
So what are my current goals for this blog? Mostly to document what I am currently learning and try to simply explain the things that I have learned recently because apparently, you understand things well when you can simply explain them. However, we have to take into account that there is an emphasis on the word try 😄.
Taking a peek at my about section probably gives you a brief idea about what I am going to post about - Linux, a bit of programming, and virtualization technologies with a focus on containers and their orchestration. If you are a Kubernetes enthusiast yourself, you might have already guessed from the title of this post, that I am also a huge fan, and this May is also going to mark two years from the time that I was introduced to it. Given that this technology currently occupies my primary focus, I made the decision last year to also obtain CKA and CKAD certifications.
At first, my goal was to obtain both certifications by the end of summer, but at the beginning of this year, the Linux Foundation changed its policy regarding certification expiry, making both certifications valid for only 24 months instead of 36. The policy will take effect on April 1, 2024, which, in a way forced me to shorten my window for obtaining the certifications. I therefore quite quickly started preparing for the exam and I also passed the first one (CKAD) a few weeks ago with a score of 95. Because April is right around the corner, I am currently also preparing for the next one, which I have scheduled for the next Thursday.
Right now this is pretty much everything, so I will post an update once I get the results of the exam. Then I will also explain how I prepared for both exams and my overall experience with the exams.
